How can people hear each other through what they see?
We live in a world dominated by vision. Sight has taken precedence in our sensory hierarchy, often overshadowing other modes of perception. This imbalance shapes not only how we experience the world, but also how we communicate and relate to one another.
As a sound artist, I’m constantly exploring the dynamic relationship between the auditory and the visual. I believe sound holds an untapped potential to express, connect, and challenge perception — perhaps even more deeply than we allow it to.
These sonic-painting labs are experiments in sensory dialogue — not through language, but through audiovisual interaction. Participants are paired to co-create musical “phrases,” with each pair sharing a set of channels. Within this shared space, you may choose to ignore, twist, respond to, or extend your partner’s audiovisual expressions. In doing so, we build a layered, wordless conversation — letting sound speak for itself.
